Garlic Butter Shrimp Scampi with Linguine Pasta

This Garlic Butter Shrimp Scampi with Linguine Pasta is a quick and flavorful Italian-inspired dish featuring tender shrimp tossed in a rich garlic butter sauce served over perfectly cooked linguine.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 oz linguine pasta
  • 1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 4 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup dry white wine
  • 2 tbsp fresh lemon juice
  • 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
  • 2 tbsp chopped fresh parsley
  • 1 tbsp olive oil

Instructions

  1. Cook the linguine pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  2. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high heat. Add shrimp and season with salt and pepper. Cook until pink and opaque, about 2 minutes per side. Remove shrimp and set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant.
  4. Pour in the white wine and lemon juice, stirring to combine. Let the sauce simmer for 2-3 minutes to reduce slightly.
  5. Add red pepper flakes if using, then return the shrimp to the skillet. Toss to coat shrimp in the sauce and heat through.
  6. Add the cooked linguine to the skillet and gently toss to combine all ingredients.
  7. Sprinkle fresh parsley over the top and adjust seasoning with salt and pepper if needed. Serve immediately.

Notes

For extra richness, sprinkle grated Parmesan cheese on top before serving or add a pinch of chili flakes for more heat.
