  • 2 cups fresh blueberries
  • 6 large eggs
  • 2 cups whole milk
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • Powdered sugar for garnish (optional)
  • Maple syrup for serving

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. Spread the cubed brioche evenly in the baking dish.
  3. Scatter fresh blueberries evenly over the bread cubes.
  4. In a large bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, heavy cream, sugar, vanilla extract, cinnamon, salt, and melted butter until smooth.
  5. Pour the custard mixture evenly over the bread and blueberries, pressing down gently to soak.
  6. Cover the dish with foil and refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight for best results.
  7. Remove foil and bake uncovered for 45-50 minutes until the top is golden brown and the custard is set.
  8. Let cool slightly before dusting with powdered sugar and serving with maple syrup.

Notes

For extra texture, sprinkle a streusel topping before baking or add a handful of chopped nuts.
